This once decrepit Victorian mansion is undergoing a massive restoration. Designed by noted architect Nicholas Clayton, this Galveston historical treasure is slowly being brought back to life.

Fall Garden Tour
Saturday, October 18th
We're pleased to be partnering once again with the East End Historic District Association for their Fran Kelly Fall Garden Tour.
The courtyard of the historic Lucas Apartments will be part of the Garden Tour, benefitting the EEHDA. While there, you can purchase a separate ticket to tour inside the apartments and one of the Carriage Houses. Proceeds from the interior tour will go directly to the Restoration of the League-Kempner House.

Step into the solemn chamber of mourning this Halloween, where Edgar Allan Poe himself takes the stage. Through his most exquisite and heartfelt poetry, Poe summons Lenore and Annabel Lee across the gulf of Death, guiding you through an unforgettable arc of grief—from denial to acceptance.
This immersive performance blends gothic romance with timeless verse, inviting you to witness the heart of America’s great poet laid bare.
Following the performance, guests are welcomed to a refined reception and a self-guided tour of the storied League-Kempner House, where history and atmosphere linger in every room. Incorporate a Costume Contest complete with Poe-themed prizes, and you’ll curate an evening of entertainment that transforms Halloween into a truly memorable occasion. An evening of beauty, sorrow, and mystery awaits.
